Back in July I was able to visit my roots back in the Tacoma/U.P Washington area, while in town to help shoot a friend's wedding (photos soon to come). Don't you love those few friendships that no matter how much time and distance between, it always picks up right where it left off? Heck, I sure do.
I was lucky enough to spend the afternoon with one of my dearest friends Ashley, her hubs Bucky, and their cutest baby boy Brody. Ashley is one of my most cherished friends to whom I did a lot of growing up with. We suffered through the hard years of high school, and she made the trek with me to Utah about 4 years ago. Lucky enough she met and married my brother's best friend Bucky Marsh, and they moved back home. You won't run into many people as genuine as this girl. She is one of the few who understand my strange quarks, such as fear of telephones, my panics of being left alone in awkward situations, and crying for no good reason! Oh yeah, Bucky is pretty fantastic too, although Brody takes the win overall. I mean LOOK at that face, those expressions kill me!
Man oh man there is no place like home. I could cry... YUP I sure could. There are not many things I love more than being in the Pacific North West... especially on a boat, on the puget sound, at sunset. I am so glad I had my camera around to capture a few awesome moments of these guys, and our boat ride. I loved this afternoon way too much. My heart aches to live here someday again with my hubs and Bowie. FOR GOOD. Sorry for the novel, I get sappy and passionate when it gets late.

Honestly guys, I could have shared every single one of these pictures with no shame...I practically did! I was so lucky to shoot my Brother TJ's engagements with his drop dead gorgeous fiance Katie. The lighting, their beautiful faces, the atmosphere could not have been better, and honestly... I do not think I could have taken a bad picture of these two, I mean look at them! Total babes! I used Kodak Portra 160, and 400 speed film...and I loved it. I learn something new with every roll I take. Let me shoot your engagements and/or portraits! Tessashaeffer@gmail.com

You wanna know what else is so wonderful? FILM. You know why? No crops, no edits, nothing. It is what it is. There is Something so great about pure raw footage.

Wanna know what else is completely real and natural? Katie's eyelashes! I could not get over them. Take a good look, they are amazingly long and ALL her! Beeaaauutttiiiiuuuflllll giirrrll.

"Love is all" by the Tallest Man on Earth. Favorite line:"Well I walk upon the River like its easier than land". The song always connected deep, and always seemed suitable while on one of our mother nature adventures. I just now looked up the video and it is completely perfect. Relationships between friends and family, surrounded by Earth and all its beauty it has to offer. Makes me think of Adam and I and our adventures, and the many more to come. I love the great outdoors, and sharing it with those I love. It is all that I need.

A little kayak trip we had in California for Adam's belated birthday celebration back in July. Loved it all, including him the most. Gotta love disposable under water cameras.
